# Onion Rava Dosa with Aloo Masala Recipe

## Ingredients

* ½ cup rava / sooji / semolina / bombay rava
* ½ cup rice flour
* ¼ ­ cup maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
* 1 inch ginger *(finely chopped)*
* 1 green chilli *(finely chopped)*
* few coriander leaves *(finely chopped)*
* 5 curry leaves *(roughly chopped)*
* 1 tsp jeera / cumin seeds
* salt to taste
* 2 cups water *(adjust to the consistency)*
* 1 tsp pepper *(crushed)*
* ½ cup onion *(finely chopped)*
* 1 cup aloo bhaji
* oil for roasting

## Instructions

1. firstly, in a large mixing bowl take rava, rice flour and maida in the ratio of 1:1:½.
2. furthermore, add finely chopped ginger, chilli, coriander leaves and curry leaves.
3. also add jeera and salt.
4. additionally, add 1 cup of water and mix well.
5. furthermore, add another cup of more water and get to a pouring consistency.
6. also add crushed black pepper.
7. rest for 20 minutes.
8. furthermore, heat the tawa or non-stick pan and spread 1 or 2 tsp oil.
9. wipe off with a tissue paper.
10. in addition, sprinkle some finely chopped onions directly over tawa.
11. then mix the prepared batter well and take a cup full of batter.
12. now carefully pour the dosa batter from the edges towards the center.
13. sprinkle ½ or 1 tsp of oil from the top.
14. furthermore, let the base turn crispy golden brown.
15. now place a generous amount of aloo bhaji in centre of dosa.
16. then fold the dosa like you fold masala dosa.
17. finally, serve rava masala dosa immediately with coconut chutney.

    additionally, add 1 cup of water and mix well. making sure there are no lumps formed.

    furthermore, add another cup of more water and get to a pouring consistency. it should be watery like neer dosa batter. else the dosa will not be crisp.

    wipe off with a tissue paper. if using non-stick pan then no need to spread oil.

    in addition, sprinkle some finely chopped onions directly over tawa. this helps spreading of onions uniformly over dosa and also holds when rava dosa batter is poured.

## Notes

* firstly, you can add onions directly to the batter. however, sprinkling on tawa makes it to uniformly present in dosa.

* furthermore, add enough water to get the pouring consistency else your dosa will not be crispy.

* most noteworthy, if your dosa is not crisp or turning very thick, do not worry. just add half cup of water and give a good mix.

* finally, i recommend you to stir the batter before pouring to dosa tava.
