# Matar Pulao Recipe

## Ingredients

* 2 tbsp oil
* 6 cloves
* 1 bay leaf
* 1 inch cinnamon
* 1 black cardamom
* 1 tsp cumin
* 1 tsp pepper
* 1 javetri
* 4 pods cardamom
* 2 tbsp cashew
* 5 chilli *(slit)*
* 2 cloves garlic *(finely chopped)*
* 1 inch ginger *(finely chopped)*
* ½ onion *(sliced)*
* 1½ cup peas
* 1 tsp salt
* 2 cup water
* 1 cup basmati rice *(soaked 20 minutes)*
* 2 tbsp lemon juice
* 1 tsp ghee

## Instructions

1. Firstly, in a kadai heat 2 tbsp oil and saute spice till they turn aromatic.
2. Also, saute 2 tbsp cashew till they turn golden brown.
3. Further, add 5 chilies, 2 cloves garlic,1 inch ginger, ½ onions and saute until the onion softens.
4. Now add 1½ cup peas, 1 tsp salt and stir fry.
5. Pour in 2 cup water and get to a boil.
6. Once the water comes to a boil, add 1 cup basmati rice, 2 tbsp lemon juice, and 1 tsp ghee. Lemon juice helps to cook the rice uniformly.
7. give a good stir. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes once the water comes to a boil.
8. Fluff the rice gently making sure the rice grains are not broken.
9. Finally, enjoy Matar Pulao Recipe with sabzi or raita.

## Notes

* Firstly, use basmati rice for more rich flavors. However, you can also prepare it with sona masuri rice.

* Additionally, add vegetables of your choice to make it more nutritious.

* Furthermore, pulao taste great when kept very simple and prepared with more spices and ghee.

* Finally, **Matar Pulao** or **Peas Pulao** tastes great when served hot and non-sticky.
