# Peanut Chutney Powder Recipe

## About

An excellent spice mixture or multipurpose chutney powder, it can be quickly served with a range of breakfast recipes, such as idli, dosa, and Pongal. However, **Peanut Chutney Powder** is not limited to these and can be a tasty condiment or taste enhancer with rasam rice, dal rice, or even sambar rice meal. It is prepared with a basic combination of fried peanuts, basic spices, garlic and herbs. But the usage of it is myriad and can be used as a side to almost any North and South Indian cuisine recipes.

There are many different ways to prepare a simple **Peanut Chutney Powder** in South India. The basic combination is fried groundnuts, garlic, lentils, and coconut. But this simple combination can be tweaked to make something unique and interesting. The combination of lentils gives the chutney powder a unique taste and texture. In addition, adding garlic pods is optional, but adding them makes it flavoured and refreshing.

## Ingredients

* 1 cup peanut
* 2 tsp oil
* 10 dried red chilli
* few curry leaves
* 1 tsp cumin
* small piece tamarind
* 2 tbsp dry coconut
* 10 cloves garlic
* 1 tsp salt
* pinch hing

## Instructions

1. Firstly, dry roast 1 cup peanuts on low flame till they turn crunchy.
2. Keep roasting on low flame uniformly till the skin separates.
3. Cool completely, and separate the skin from the peanuts. Keep aside.
4. In a pan heat 2 tsp oil. Fry 10 dried red chilli, a few curry leaves, 1 tsp cumin.
5. Also add a small piece of tamarind, 2 tbsp dry coconut, and roast on low flame.
6. Cool completely, and grind to a fine powder.
7. Add roasted peanuts, 10 cloves garlic, 1 tsp salt and pinch hing.
8. Pulse and grind to a coarse texture.
9. Finally, enjoy Peanut Chutney Powder Recipe with hot steamed rice, idli, or dosa.

* Firstly, you can use chilli powder instead of red chilli for bring red colour.
