It is a popular North Indian drink made with a combination of basic spices like jeera, pepper, amchur, and Kala Namak. Jaljeera Drink is a popular refreshing drink prepared during the hot summer season to lower the body temperature. The combination of spices and fresh herbs when mixed with water results in a cooling beverage. Jal means water and jeera refers to cumin or a combination of spices in Hindi. There are many different ways to make this simple Jaljeera Drink Recipe. But the most common way is to make it with fresh herbs and basic spices. There are many different flavored Jal Jira drinks, but the basic one is the most common and popular. Additionally, the drink can be made with flavors. It can take garam masala, hing powder, and even ginger powder for extra flavor.Ingredients
for homemade jal jeera powder:
- 2 tbsp cumin
- 2 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp black salt
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ginger powder
- 2 tbsp amchur powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
for drink:
- 3 tbsp mint
- 2 tbsp coriander
- ¾ tsp jal jeera powder
- ice cubes
- lemon slices
Instructions
- Firstly, in a pan take 2 tbsp cumin and roast on low flame.
- Roast until the cumin turns aromatic and golden brown.
- Also, add 2 tsp pepper and continue to roast on low flame until it turns aromatic.
- Cool completely, and transfer to the mixer jar.
- Add 2 tbsp black salt, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp ginger powder, 2 tbsp amchur powder and 2 tbsp sugar.
- Grind to fine powder and Homemade Jal Jeera Powder is ready.
- To prepare pudina jal jeera drink, in mixer jar take 3 tbsp mint, 2 tbsp coriander, ¾ tsp jal jeera powder and grind to fine paste.
- In a tall glass take a few ice cubes and pour in the prepared pudina jaleera drink mixture.
- Add in ice-cold water or soda and lemon slices.
- Finally, enjoy Jal Jeera Recipe garnished with mint.

- Firstly, do not burn the cumin, make sure to roast it on low flame until it turns aromatic.
- Also, if you have access to the dried mint leaves, then make sure to add them while making powder.
