Drumstick Soup is a traditional South Indian recipe made from fresh moringa pods. It is packed with nutrients and offers a soothing, earthy flavour. Ingredients
- 3 drumstick (chopped)
- 3 tbsp masoor dal
- 1 tomato (chopped)
- ½ onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 chilli
- 1 inch cinnamon
- ½ tsp cloves
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cup water
- ½ tsp kala namak
- 2 tbsp coriander
- 2 tbsp mint
Instructions
- Firstly, in a cooker, add 3 drumsticks and 3 tablespoons of masoor dal.
- Also, add 1 tomato, ½ onion, 2 cloves of garlic, and 2 chillies.
- Add 1 inch cinnamon, ½ tsp cloves, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tsp coriander seeds, 1 tsp cumin and 1 tsp salt.
- Pour 3 cups of water, and pressure cook for 5 whistles.
- Drain off and transfer the drumstick to the mixer jar.
- Add water and grind to extract the pulp.
- Filter out, extracting the pulp easily.
- Now, add the drumstick pulp water to the kadai.
- Add water and adjust the consistency. Also, add ½ tsp kala namak and bring to a boil.
- Now, in a mixer jar, add 2 tbsp of coriander and 2 tbsp of mint. Grind to a smooth paste.
- Transfer the coriander mint paste to the soup and mix well.
- Do not over-boil as it will lose its flavour.
- Finally, enjoy the Drumstick Soup Recipe piping hot.
Step-by-step
