
Step-by-step

firstly, in a tawa dry roast 1 cup rice flour.

roast until the flour turns warm and aromatic.

transfer the roasted rice flour into a bowl.

in the same tawa roast ½ cup putani on low flame.

transfer to the blender and blend to smooth powder.

add the powdered putani powder to the same bowl.

in the tawa dry roast ½ cup peanuts until the skin starts to separate.

peel off the skin and transfer to the blender.

blend to a coarse powder and add to the bowl.

further dry roast 2 tbsp sesame on low flame.

add in roasted sesame seeds to the bowl.

now dry roast ¼ cup dry coconut until it turns crisp.

transfer the roasted dry coconut to the bowl.

add ¼ tsp cardamom powder and combine well.

further, add 2 tbsp ghee. crumble and mix until the flour turns moist.

in a tawa take 1 cup jaggery and ¼ cup water.

stir and dissolve jaggery completely.

boil for 2 minutes or until 1 string consistency is attained.

filter the jaggery syrup and add to the flour mixture.

mix well using the spoon until everything is well combined.

grease your hands with ghee and start preparing ladoo.

finally, thambittu recipe is ready to enjoy for 2 weeks.

- firstly, be quick once jaggery syrup is added to the flour mixture. as it hardens when cooled.
- also, you can add jaggery syrup in batches to avoid from hardening.
- additionally, traditional thambittu is shaped into box shape to light lamp for pooja.
- finally, thambittu recipe tastes great when prepared with homemade rice flour.
