About
It is basically a simple and healthy comfort meal made with finger millet and a range of vegetables. Basically, Ragi Soup is a healthy nutrient wholesome meal that can be served for any occasion. Typically, it is made and served as healthy comfort food during colds, coughs, or indigestion problems. However, it can also be a perfect part starter or appetizer for any occasion or celebration feast meal. There are myriad ways to make this Ragi Soup, but the simple way is to make it with plain water. Ragi flour is boiled with vegetables till it gets the texture and consistency. The other way is to prepare it with vegetable or meat stock or broth. This way it is more filling but may not be suitable for all reasons. The other popular way is to make it with chilled butter milk which can be a perfect soup, especially during summer or hot seasons.Ingredients
- ½ cup ragi flour
- 5 cup water
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 5 cloves garlic (sliced)
- 2 chilli (finely chopped)
- ½ onion (finely chopped)
- ½ carrot (finely chopped)
- 5 beans (finely chopped)
- 3 tbsp peas
- 2 tbsp sweet corn
- 2 tbsp cabbage (shredded)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper powder
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp spring onion (chopped)
Instructions
- Firstly, in a bowl take ½ cup ragi flour and mix with 1 cup water.
- Make sure there are no lumps in ragi slurry. Keep aside.
- In a large kadai heat 2 tsp oil. add 1 inch cinnamon, 5 cloves garlic, 2 chilli, and saute until they turn aromatic.
- Add ½ onion, ½ carrot, 5 beans, 3 tbsp peas, 2 tbsp sweet corn, 2 tbsp cabbage, and stir fry for 2 minutes.
- Also, add 2 tbsp cabbage and stir fry without overcooking the vegetables.
- now add 4 cup water, 1 tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper powder.
- Mix well and boil for 3 minutes, so that the water turns flavourful. You can alternatively use vegetable stock here.
- Now add prepared ragi slurry and stir continuously for 2 minutes.
- Boil for 3 minutes or until the ragi is cooked well and turns glossy.
- Turn off the flame and add 2 tbsp lemon juice and 2 tbsp spring onion.
- Finally, enjoy Ragi Soup Recipe topped with more spring onion or coriander.

- Firstly, make sure to mix the ragi flour with water first to prevent from any lumps forming.
- Also, you can add vegetables of your choice to make it nutritious.
- Additionally, add pepper to the soup as they are healthy.
