It is a simple and easy sweet laddu recipe prepared with crushed peanuts, jaggery syrup, and a combination of dry nuts. Peanut Ladoo or Shengdana Laddu is a typical sweet snack prepared during Ganesh Chaturthi or Krishna Janmashtami festival. But not limited to it, and it can also be a perfect energy bar or nutrient snack, providing the required calories and nutrients. In addition, it can also be a healthy and ideal kid’s tiffin box snack, and kids should relish it without any complaints. The Peanut Ladoo or Shengadana Ladoo has many variations, but the most common way is to make it with peanuts. Adding other types of nuts with peanuts makes it tasty, but it may not be the traditional recipe. In addition, adding sesame seeds can be a more flavoured and delicious recipe. Further, adding sugar syrup instead of jaggery may yield a great colour and texture to the ladoo.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut
  • 1 cup sesame
  • 3 tbsp dry coconut
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Firstly, dry roast 1 cup peanut on low flame till the peanuts turns crunchy.
  2. Cool completely, and remove the skin of peanuts from the peanuts.
  3. Transfer to the mixer jar and grind to a coarse powder. Keep aside.
  4. In a pan, dry roast 1 cup sesame till they turn aromatic.
  5. Also add 3 tbsp dry coconut and continue to roast till the sesame and coconut turn golden brown.
  6. Cool completely, and grind to a coarse powder.
  7. Transfer the sesame powder to the same plate as the crushed peanut.
  8. Also add 1 cup jaggery, ½ tsp cardamom powder and mix well.
  9. Again transfer to the mixer jar and give a good pulse.
  10. The jaggery will combine well, and the mixture will turn super moist.
  11. Also add 2 tbsp poppy seeds to the ladoo mixture and mix well.
  12. Start making small ladoo or the shape of your size.
  13. Finally, Peanut Ladoo Recipe tastes great for a month when stored in an airtight container.
