Recipes made from puffed rice are typically considered gluten-free, low-calorie, low-fat ingredients and ideal snack recipes. There are many ways a simple Murmura Chivda snack can be prepared. The most common way is to dry roast the puffed rice with spice powders in a small quantity of oil. It is then tossed with fried ingredients like peanuts, dry coconut, sev mixture, lentils and red chillies. Additionally, adding finely chopped onions and tomatoes can give extra flavour and taste to the snack. However, adding any wet ingredients reduces its shelf life.
